Donation Distribution Policy

This policy applies to all Makerspace volunteers, regardless of their role within the space.

Overview

In the interest of fairness, this policy is the framework for how we receive and distribute donated items within the areas of the space.

Receival of donations

To prevent us from having to dispose of items that are of no use to us, all requests to donate items should be directed to the donation form on our website. They can then be checked and approved to bring in the items, or denied.

Upon receival of donated items, the volunteer receiving should count and inventory the items donated. Then post some photos and the list of items to the ‘Donations’ Slack channel.

Distribution of donated items

If a donated item is only needed in one area, then that item may be used in said area immediately. Any instance in which a donated item could be used in more than one area, the Operations Team will coordinate with the cause leaders and find the best use for the item.
