Opening and Closing Procedure

General

1. Open the basement door using the TecomPlus app
2. Turn on lights through the basement from the basement door to our front door
3. Unlock the Makerspace door using the key kept in the lockbox to the right-hand-side
4. Turn on the lights in the fabrication space (3 switches)
5. Sign in as a volunteer using the tablet
6. Bring the A-frame ‘Open’ sign out to the front door
7. Turn on the front desk PC

Fabrication space

1. Switch on machines for the day (3D printers, laser cutters, PCs etc.)
2. Ensure tables and desks are clean and tidy
3. Empty bins that are full

Workshop

1. Turn on Workshop lights, and open doors if airflow is needed

Workshop

1. Close and lock workshop doors
2. Turn off machines not in use
3. Tidy and clean benches
4. Ensure yellow walkways are clear
5. Turn off workshop lights

Fabrication and front room

1. Turn off machines not in use
2. Tidy and clean tables and desks
3. Empty bins that are full
4. Vacuum the floor is necessary
5. Ensure admin room is closed and locked

General

1. Bring in the A-frame ‘Open’ sign
2. Sign out on the tablet
3. Turn off remaining lights
4. Lock and close the front room double doors
5. Ensure the central staircase door is fully closed
6. Close and latch the basement door using the TecomPlus app
7. Turn off all basement lights
8. Bring in doorbell from front door and check for others still in the building (ground floor)
9. If others are present in the WEA building, inform them that the basement is secure OR Turn off all lights using the panel next to the front door, and exit the building while securing the remaining areas using the TecomPlus app
