South Australian Makers Incorporated is a volunteer run, not for profit organisation that exists to provide opportunities for and to promote makers and making in South Australia. The board of SA Makers is made of up to 8 patrons of the association and has governance over SA Maker projects. It established the Makerspace Adelaide with a grant from Green Industries SA to be a space where Makers of all genres can create, design and innovate while also showcasing the circular economy principles and practices.

Makerspace Adelaide is a project of the SA Makers Inc. that emerged out of the FabLab Adelaide project. Makerspace Adelaide is intended to be a community operated creative space providing affordable access to a variety of tools and equipment – from laser cutters and sewing machines to 3D printers and traditional hand tools. Patrons will have access to tools with staff and volunteers on hand to help them remain safe during use.

This is of Volunteer group made up of SA Makers Committee members and invited Volunteer based on skill sets. They oversee currently the establishment of policy procedures and day to day operations. Volunteers report directly to this group. As the space evolves so to will the operation team and its roles and duties.

Green Industries SA is the Makerspace Adelaide foundational funding partner. GISA helps develop the green economy in response to the demand for clean and green produce, and the reduction of emissions to air, water and soil from industry. Green Industries SA promotes the circular economy, resource efficiency and the conservation and recovery of scarce resources.
