Workshop Infrastructure and Safety
Electrical
The main workshop is fitted out on a separate circuit from the rest of the building, feeding from the main supply line. Each joist in the workshop has one line of power each one their own circuit. To keep the infrastructure functioning correctly, please consider what machinery you are running off the drop down power. Avoid putting strain on each socket and line.
Below is the rated voltages for the workshop:

For safety, please avoid running multiple machines off the one socket with power boards, as multiple plant machines will put strain on the line if their total voltages are close to the maximums. Exceeding the limit will trip the breaker. Only the Workshop Supervisor, Site Manager and WHS Officer are authorised to reset breakers. Only authorised personnel are allowed to access the main breaker box.
Equipment Usage
Machine Safety Inductions must be completed before using the following equipment:
- All Machines in the Woodworking area (Table saw, Bandsaws, Drill press, Disc and Belt sanders, Wood lathe, drop saw)
- All Machines in the Metalworking area (Metal Lathe, Milling machine, MIG/TIG/Stick Welder, Plasma cutter, grinders)
- CNC Machine
- All hand tools via the Workshop Induction
Tool Storage Bay
If you are using the space, you are expected to keep it neat and tidy. Below are some photos of how the tool storage bay should look. Please make sure all hand tools are put back in their correct spot, and all power tools are bundled with their cords and placed neatly on the racks.
